Sad Losses

Our summer also had some sad times in it.

On July 14th, Madalyn lost her year long battle with cancer.

On July 28th, Grandpa Leishman passed away at the age of 78.

We will miss them both.

Mom's Birthday

My family spoiled me today! I went shopping for a little bit (all by myself!) and when I came home there were balloons, presents, and a delicious chocolate cake. They couldn't wait for me to come in the door and yell "SURPRISE!" Is it any wonder I love them so much?

Bear Lake

We spent a few days at Bear Lake and had a blast! We left on Sunday afternoon and came home on Tuesday night. The weather was almost perfect (just a little windy), and we even made it home with just a few sunburns (mostly Mom).

Barbies

Maya has been enjoying playing with her Barbies. She loves to fill up their swimming pool and play on the deck. The only problem is, she doesn't like to leave their clothes on and this really makes Ethan uncomfortable. He hates it when he looks out the patio doors and there are naked Barbies looking back at him!

Our Funny Girl

Maya is just beginning to take some interest in what her hair looks like, and wants some say in how it is done each day. She also likes to attempt to do it herself sometimes, this was one of those days.

Lagoon!

Lagoon Day! We were there from open to close, and the kids had a blast! We went for Herff Jones day and Brenda, Cortney, and Denver went with us.

Alex loved every ride, he is fearless!

Ethan loved the fountains, he looks forward to them every year. He isn't really into riding the rides, except for the Sky Ride.

Maya loved the merry-go-round and the train, over and over again!

Gone Fishing!

For the 4th of July we decided to get away from the crowds and went fishing. It was Maya's first time, and she loved it. We went to Johnson Reservoir in Franklin, Idaho. Ethan caught his first fish within 30 seconds. Troy spent the day just rebaiting hooks. The boys kept catching some really small blue gills, and even though they weren't fish that we could take home and eat they still had fun. Maya never did catch a fish, but she really tried hard. She even got Dad to try using her princess fishing pole.
